Safer Places, Inc. to Hold Free Webinar on EEOC Guidelines for Employers

MIDDLEBORO, MA -Safer Places Inc., a firm providing pre-employment screening/background checks, tenant screening and security consulting will conduct a free webinar on updated Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines regarding an employer’s use of criminal records for employment screening purposes.

The online event is scheduled for Thursday, February 8th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.  Eastern Standard Time.

In 2012, the EEOC issued the new guidelines and now three years later “many employers are still struggling to find the correct balance between being fair to ex-offenders and the need to maintain safe work environments,” said David Sawyer, President of Safer Places, Inc.

The webinar will discuss EEOC guidance and actions against employers; address recent private class action cases using the EEOC guidance; and demonstrate a software tool designed to assist employers in taking the steps necessary to remain in compliance with EEOC guidelines.

Derek Hinton, a business development executive with more than 25 years of experience in employment screening, compliance and recruiting, will facilitate the webinar.  He is the author of “The Criminal Records Manual.”
