“We had such an incredible turnout for the 6th Annual Waterfront Reggae Festival in August that we wanted to bring another night of reggae to Providence before the end of our outdoor concert schedule.  There is nothing better than a hot reggae show on a crisp October night,” said Michele Maker Palmieri, President and CEO of Waterfront Productions.  “Collie Buddz is part of a new generation of acclaimed reggae artists we have been trying to land for the Festival and we’re thrilled he’ll help us close out our event season.”  Palmieri added that it is a standing room/festival style event so attendees are welcome to bring a blanket or low chair but no coolers, large bags or outside food & beverage will be allowed into the concert.

In addition to the music, the concert will feature authentic Jamaican food options from the Half Way Tree restaurant as well as more traditional fare while multiple bars will offer cold brews and festive island cocktails.  Artisan vendors, including Motherland Life and Greenside Up Gallery, will sell African and Caribbean collectibles.

After a string of successful one-off singles and collaborations including “Yesterday” (featuring Riff Raff and Snoop Dogg), Collie Buddz will headline the Fall Waterfront Reggae Concert in support of his Blue Dreamz EP, a seven-track project that features his trademark melodic vocals, soaring synthesizers and addictive percussion.  Best known for his single “Come Around” which was ranked #1 on the BBC Radio UK dancehall charts, he recently signed with the Louder Than Life label, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.  Born Colin Harper in New Orleans, Buddz was raised by his mother in Bermuda where reggae music became a formidable influence.  He has toured the world with artists including Cypress Hill, Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown, Damian Marley, Lil Jon, Shaggy and Third World and was the featured act with Rebelution, Matisyahu and Zion I on the Good Vibes Tour in 2013.

Buddz has also been a headliner at major music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Boomtown, Summer Jam, Reggae on the Rocks, California Roots Festival and the Marley Family 9 Mile Music Festival.

The Ravers have been a reggae staple in Rhode Island for the past 27 years playing both original music and covers. The nine-piece group catalog of over 100 songs.
