9:00 – 11:00 am
As part of President Obama’s National Network for Manufacturing Innovation initiative, the New England Consortium for Digital Design and Manufacturing is preparing a proposal for the federal government to establish a collaborative institute centered within New England with the purpose of advancing US competitiveness through the advancement of digital technologies applied to manufacturing and design. This proposal will seek $70M in federal funds with matching funds (cash and in-kind) from state and local governments, industries, universities, and community colleges to develop and disseminate DMD technology and related business best practices. Please see the attached flier for more information.
The NEC_DMDI invites industries (Large, SME, others) to participate in an Industry Day in support of the proposal generation and submission. The purposes of the meeting are (1) to demonstrate the promise of digital manufacturing and design technologies for increased competitiveness; (2) to listen to industry on the problems they face in adopting these technologies in their facilities and business areas; (3) to discuss the DMDI Institute proposal and the institute, in collaboration with industry, might address these problems.
