Roaring Twenties comes to Rhode Island at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Festive “The Big Toast” Fundraiser

CRANSTON, RI – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State invites guests to celebrate and raise a glass at the third annual “The Big Toast on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Linden Place Museum, 500 Hope St, Bristol, Rhode Island.

Grab your flapper dress and dust off your fedora for this Great Gatsby-themed tasting event!  Sample, taste and savor an impressive selection of distinctive microbrews, exquisite wines, and assorted spirits from some of the areas most talented and popular microbrewers, wineries, distillers and distributors. Participating companies include Zyr Vodka, Grapes and Grains, Tenth and Blake Beer Company, Joseph Victori Wine, and many more.  Each guest will be greeted at the door with a glass of The Spiced Pear’s private label sparkling wine provided by The Chanler at Cliff Walk.

A line-up of top mixologists will be on hand to demonstrate how to mix the perfect cocktail. Mixologists include Gillian White from Cook and Brown, Kelli Henry, Jay Carr from The Eddy and Lesley DeRosa.  Guests will also have the opportunity to meet and greet with The Big Toast Honorary Chair, Johnson & Wales Professor and sustainable food pioneer, award-winning Chef Branden J. Lewis.

Snacks and delectable samples will be provided by several top area restaurants and sponsors, highlighted by Basta Ristorante, Wharf Tavern, Top This Fire-Grilled Pizza Crusts, and Los Andes Restaurant.

This special event will be held at Linden Place Museum, an 1810 Federal period mansion located in the center of downtown Bristol, Rhode Island.  This unique venue, on the Historic Register, is a museum to days gone by and includes an art gallery, ballroom and tented courtyard.
