Red Stripe Restaurant To Open New Location In East Greenwich

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (June 4, 2014): Red Stripe, an American brasserie style restaurant located on the East Side of Providence, announces plans to open a second location at 455 Main Street in East Greenwich, R.I.

The site housed the former Caprice Restaurant & Bar and is expected to open in Summer 2014.

“Our plans were approved by the town’s Historic Commission last week, so we are moving forward with initial renovation and construction work to modify the location to our brand,” states Red Stripe General Manager Stan Kachnowicz. “The building layout is approximately 5,000 square feet in size, which is larger than our Wayland Square location and can accommodate 175 seats including a private dining area. Other than giving the front of the building a facelift and adding kitchen equipment, the site is ideal for our needs.”

When describing the changes to the façade, Kachnowicz mentioned changing the windows so that they open to the street and adding Red Stripe’s signature red awning, large fork, logo and color scheme. The restaurant will be open for dinner seven days per week, and brunch/late lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. They have not yet made a decision about whether or not they’ll be open for lunch during the week.

Red Stripe is an upscale but relaxed family-friendly neighborhood restaurant specializing in refined comfort food with a French influence. “Our food is reasonably priced and always made with passion,” adds Kachnowicz. “We’re excited to bring our Red Stripe experience to the neighborhood of East Greenwich. The clientele is comparable to our Providence location where we see many of our guests out for a stroll or out shopping. We are looking forward to hosting many meals, special gatherings and celebrations for our new friends as we welcome those from East Greenwich and the surrounding area.”
