Merger announced between The Employers Association and the Employers Association of the NorthEast

LINCOLN, RI — The members of The Employers Association (TEA), a Rhode Island-based professional services organization, voted in a special meeting held July 17 to accept a recommendation by the organization’s board to merge with the Employers Association of the NorthEast (EANE) effective August 1, 2012. The move expands the reach of EANE’s professional services offerings into southeastern New England rounding out their footprint in the NorthEast, establishing a broader member base and supporting greater capacity to deliver value in the areas of human resources, organization development, regulatory/legal compliance and employee training and development services.

To help ensure a smooth transition in delivery of services and to provide depth of understanding of the TEA member businesses’ concerns, EANE added Paul Martineau, formerly the President of TEA, to its leadership team. He will serve as Director of Member Relations.

Paul Martineau said “I know first-hand that our member businesses derived significant value from the human resources services and training that The Employers Association provided over the years. Joining EANE is a chance for them to access a broader range of services and more in-depth resources. It is truly a win-win.”

Former TEA member organizations will continue to enjoy access to a local office, now to be operated by EANE and to offer an expanded range of services.

Collaboration between the organizations has been ongoing for several years.

Meredith Wise, SPHR, president of EANE, said “This merger advances our mission of providing employers access to quality, bottom-line focused professional talent management services designed to help them achieve their goals. We have enjoyed an excellent working partnership with The Employers Association over the years. Retaining Paul Martineau as part of the merger adds value to all EANE members and is another reason we are confident the transition will be seamless for TEA members .”

About EANE: The Employers Association of the NorthEast was founded more than 100 years ago, and now (with its merger with TEA) serves more than 1,000 employers in employers the North East.. The organization’s goal is to help members, regardless of size, to cultivate a strong workforce by providing resources and services in the areas of human resources, organization development, employment/workplace compliance, and employee development.
