LOPCO Selected for Greater Kennedy Plaza Skating Rink Tunnel Project. Team completes rush project in time for scheduled kick-off event.

PROVIDENCE, RI  (August 27, 2012) – Just days before the 2012 kickoff event for the Greater Kennedy Plaza Skating Rink Tunnel, LOPCO Contracting was called in to help. The painting project involved finish work for the City Arts for Youth “Tile and Paint” mural installation within the tunnel.

Against a tight deadline and the need for precision work, Louis Capracotta, Facilities Manager for the Rhode Island Foundation, called Tom Lopatosky, Proprietor of LOPCO Contracting.

“We absolutely could not have accomplished this project without the professionalism and good will of Tom and his crew,” said Jennifer C. Smith, EdM, Program Manager for Greater Kennedy Plaza. “On very short notice, Tom consulted with our staff, the artists, City Arts staff, and Lou from the Rhode Island Foundation, and completed the job on time.”

“I was amazed by the quick and skilled work of his friendly and professional team. We were able to have a completed mural on display for our important season kick-off event. LOPCO’s beautiful paint job helped all of the work by City Arts for Youth students and artists come together and come to life,” said Smith.

This project is first in a series of pieces in the tunnel, and part of the work based on a Creative Placemaking grant from the National Endowment for the Arts of which Greater Kennedy Plaza is a part this year.

“I can only give LOPCO the highest possible recommendation,” said Smith.
