Locally-crafted Mother’s Day gifts to support local Women’s Fund

NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI – My Méz®, a Rhode Island-based business, has announced that their custom-crafted Mother’s Day products will benefit the Women’s Fund RI.  Launched in 2012, My Méz is redefining how we look at furniture and gifts by producing personalized end tables and trays that feature photography.  “Mothers take care of everyone’s needs before their own.  We were thinking of ways to acknowledge mothers and were excited to learn about the ways in which Women’s Fund is investing in women and girls right in our community. Our Mother’s Day sales will support their efforts in two ways,” said Samir Dhamija and Akanksha Aga, the husband-wife duo behind My Méz.
  • My Méz will donate 5% of all sales leading up to Mother’s Day, May 10th, to Women’s Fund RI making it an unforgettable gift in many ways. Celebrate Mom with a custom-made tray or accent table featuring her favorite memories while supporting women’s initiatives at the same time. Each piece is hand-crafted in Rhode Island and showcases unique photography- customers can select from My Méz’s versatile photo gallery or send their own for a picture-perfect gift.  These distinctive pieces offer dual functionality as you can use it as a table/tray or hang it as wall art; all while displaying your favorite photos. My Méz products are tax free by the RI State Council on the Arts.
  • My Méz has created a new, limited edition tray especially for Mother’s Day and will donate $23 from each sale to the Women’s Fund RI. Why $23, you ask? On average women earn just 77 cents for every dollar that men make. Over time that difference ultimately impacts their families as they have less to pay for their everyday needs.
Their hope is that these gifts will not only make this a memorable Mother’s Day for the person receiving it but also make a difference to women within the local community. The mission of Women’s Fund of Rhode Island is to support women through research, advocacy and strategic partnerships. The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island is working to increase the number of women involved in government and public policy to help bring about systemic change reflecting true gender equality. “By investing in the Women’s Fund, as a donor, community partner or volunteer, you are helping to eliminate the “what could have been…” scenario for women and girls throughout our great state,” said Rachel Colaiace, Special Events and Fund Development Coordinator.
