Crate And Barrel Joins Garden City Center: New Store Will Highlight Brand’s Full Collection

CRANSTON, RI  –   Shoppers looking to make a style statement with their homes soon will have another retail option at Garden City Center as Crate and Barrel is opening a new 15,000 square foot store at the center in Spring 2016.  Known for exclusive housewares and furniture design, excellent value and superb customer service, Crate and Barrel will join more than a dozen local, regional and national retailers with an exclusive Ocean State presence at Garden City Center.

“We look forward to opening our Garden City Center location next spring,” said Crate and Barrel CEO Doug Diemoz. “The Wilder Companies has created an exciting lifestyle center with a compelling mix of shopping and dining destinations. It’s a great fit for Crate and Barrel and the perfect setting to introduce our full collection of furniture and housewares to Providence area customers.”

Crate and Barrel will be conveniently located between Sephora and The Container Store.  Its arrival marks the completion of Phase II of the transformation of the former big box stores into smaller more personal shopping experiences designed to meet the needs of today’s retailers. Phase II stores also include Corner Bakery, Sephora, and The Container Store.

“Crate and Barrel’s arrival once again sends a strong signal that the transformation of Garden City Shopping Center over the last several years has truly created Rhode Island’s premier outdoor shopping destination,” said Cranston Mayor Allan Fung. “The Garden City Center store will bring more people to Cranston further enhancing the economic spin-off to other businesses in our city and allowing us to showcase all that Cranston has to offer.”

“The addition of Crate and Barrel puts the finishing touch on a unique retail mix that offers design aficionados, those looking for a home makeover, and even those just starting out with a destination home design and decor shopping location,” said Maria Salvatore, leasing with  The Wilder Companies, management company for Garden City Center. “Shoppers will also find Williams Sonoma, Ethan Allen, Pottery Barn and The Container Store all within walking distance of each other.”

Gene Spiegelman and Amy Sider of Cushman and Wakefield represented Crate and Barrel.
