Ted Fischer Promoted to Managing Director at Parsons Capital Management

PROVIDENCE, RI – Parsons Capital Management is proud to announce that Edwin “Ted” Fischer has recently been promoted to the position of Managing Director.  With more than fifteen years of experience, Fischer has developed an extensive client base for the firm and demonstrated the ability to manage clients’ assets.

“Ted Fischer is an extremely disciplined investment manager and really understands the process.  He is a great fit for our firm,” states Managing Partner and Co-Founder Robert Parsons.

Fischer joined Parsons Capital Management in 1998 as a portfolio manager and director of research. Fischer is a member of the board of directors at The Slater Mill Foundation where he is chairman of the investment committee. He served on the board of Meeting Street School for more than 10 years and remains active as a member of the finance committee. Fischer is the former president of the IGWE Trust, an investment club considered to be the oldest in the country.

A resident of Providence with strong roots in Newport, Fischer graduated from Hobart College in 1989 with a degree in economics. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Providence Society of Financial Analysts.

With offices in downtown Providence, RI,  and Hobe Sound, FL, Parsons Capital Management was founded in 1993 by brothers Robert and Geddes Parsons. In 2014, the firm celebrated its 20th year in business and $1 billion in assets under management, and was included in the Bloomberg Top 50 Registered Investment Advisors in the country ranked by assets growth.
