One of country music’s most recognizable hit-makers, Josh Turner has earned numerous Country Music Association (CMA), Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Grammy nominations since the release of his debut album, Long Black Train in 2003.  His most recent studio album, Punching Bag, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and its single, “Time is Love” hit #1 on the Best of 2012 Billboard Country Chart.  Turner has sold more than five million albums with the help of a host of other songs that have reached the top of the charts, including “Your Man”, “Would You Go With Me”, “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and ”All Over Me”.  The opening act is Drew Baldridge, the up-and-coming country singer-songwriter and guitarist from Patoka, Illinois.  Providence-based singer-songwriter, Tracie Potochnik, will get the music started on The Point Stage.

Formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California, The Beach Boys brought the upbeat, youth culture of Southern California surfers to American airwaves one pop-rock song at a time. Some of the band’s hits include “I Get Around,” “Surfin’ Safari” and “Surf City” which reached #1 on the Billboard Charts. Today, the group is led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston who continue the legacy of the iconic American band.  The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and continue to tour around the world, staying true to their original laid back, California roots.  Joe Silva, drummer and lead vocalist for the former Providence-based band, The Threats, will begin the evening’s music on The Point Stage.  His latest CD is entitled, Blue.

Nineteen years after her breakthrough debut of Jagged Little Pill, an album which earned three Top 10 hits including “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic”, four Grammy awards and the honor of the highest selling debut album worldwide in music history, Alanis Morissette remains one of the most authentic, vulnerable and insightful artists of our time. Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, the follow up album to Jagged Little Pill, debuted at #1 on the Billboard chart with international hit single “Thank U” nominated for the 2000 Grammy award for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.”  In 2002, she released Under Rug Swept which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 and then, two years later, came So-Called Chaos whose single, “Everything” became an Adult Top 40 mainstay.  Her 2008 album release, Flavors of Entanglement, also opened in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart.  All total, Morissette has earned more than a dozen Juno Awards, seven Grammy awards and fourteen Grammy nominations.  Her latest studio album release is entitled Havoc and Bright Lights.  The opening band and The Point Stage act for the evening have yet to be determined.

Two decades into a recording career that began when he was 16, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has built an enviable resume as an accomplished recording artist, a riveting live performer and one of the most talented and distinctive guitarists of his generation.  He has four albums that have gone Platinum, received five Grammy nominations and two Billboard Music Awards, as well as a Blues Foundation’s Keeping The Blues Alive award and two Blues Music awards.  Shepherd has had six #1 blues albums and a string of #1 mainstream rock singles and his acclaimed CD/documentary project, 10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads, was the top-selling blues album of 2007.  In 2013, Shepherd further expanded his musical horizons by teaming up with veteran rockers Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg to form the band, The Rides, which also cut its first album, Can’t Get Enough.  Shepherd’s latest album release, Goin’ Home, features tunes originally popularized by such blues icons as B.B. King, Albert King, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. Guest artists and fellow guitar icons on the album include Joe Walsh and Warren Haynes. In addition, a variety of BBQ vendors will add some additional spice to the buffet of blues offerings.
