Free Seminar to Examine Top Ten Trending Best Practices for Non-Profit Employers

PROVIDENCE, RI –A free seminar on June 5 will feature a two-part program examining top ten best practices trends in the non-profit sector.

Attorneys from Barton Gilman LLP will examine the top ten legal pitfalls facing non-profit employers – including wage and hour disputes, discrimination, and other statutory violations. Sheri Pizzi, Matt Plain and Kristen Whittle will also provide guidance on how to avoid common and costly employment claims.

The second educational portion of the program, presented by Schuster Driscoll, will cover emerging solutions for non-profit employee benefit packages related to the Affordable Care Act. Participants can hear first-hand the exciting initiatives taking shape in the marketplace that will help non-profits provide comprehensive benefits to their employees, such as public and private exchanges, and the shift to Defined Contribution.

The seminar – part of a Regional Event Series in Rhode Island sponsored by The Alliance for Non-Profit Growth and Opportunity (TANGO) – is scheduled for 8:30-11:45 a.m. at the Sargent Rehabilitation Center, 800 Quaker Lane, in Warwick, R.I.

Barton Gilman and Schuster Driscoll are Rhode Island partners of TANGO, a purchasing collaborative comprised of non-profit organizations located primarily in New England. Membership in TANGO is free and open to all non-profits.
