Flash Talks: Tips & News You Can Actually Use

NEWPORT, RI –How much can you learn in five minutes? Find out at Newport Interactive Marketers’ inaugural Flash Talks event on August 19th from 6-9 p.m. at the International Yacht Restoration School located at 449 Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island.  Admission is free. Online registration is requested.

 

At this month’s event presenters will have 5-10 minutes to share tips and news that can move your business and/or community forward. There are currently four presenters who will be covering a wide variety of topics.

 

Longtime NIM supporter (logo & website design) soloprenuer graphic designer Lindsay (Logan) Fair will share her go-to online tools to save time & streamline workflow, invoicing, time tracking, file organization & more.

 

Learn how you can make your website POP with computer scientist Francisco Samuel. Samuel will explain how you can use your cellphone to take images and video for your site & social media and will share his favorite apps, hardware & tips for taking better pictures.

 

IYRS Marketing Manager Josh Singer will discuss the lessons he has learned from IYRS’s website relaunch. Singer will share hip tips and tricks for staying one step ahead.

 

Renee Hobbs, founding director of URI’s Harrington School of Communications & Media, will host an interactive flash talk.  Digital Cities RI needs help from interactive professionals/enthusiasts like you to ensure that Rhode Island students gain the experience they’ll need to be effective contributors to the community, state, and beyond. Help them attain this goal by critiquing their new tool to help identify consensus and controversy in digital learning in R.I. schools and colleges.
