Rhode Island Creative Magazine has become a catalyst for raising awareness of the economic value of the creative arts industry to the state and the springboard of expanded interest and understanding of the abundance of talent and creative energy in the community.
This truly unique one-of-a-kind publication connects the reader to the story of the craft; communicates the unknown and collaborates the creative and business sectors, all within a promotional and educational tool that delivers tips, resources and inspiring stories for students, entrepreneurs, business owners and consumers; in a freedom of creative expression platform called a magazine.
We will have “Maker Booths” with products handcrafted and created by local artisans, such as FabNewport Makerspace, Still Water Publications, Cosmic Unicornz, O and G Woodwork Studio and more. Locally made food will be provided by Hope & Main Food Incubator, Fellini’s Pizza, Al Son De Mi Darrio and more. Along with interesting makers and delicious food, there will be a fashion show featuring four unique designers based in Rhode Island, with models provided by Donahue Models and Talent. Martha Jackson will show her collection from Restored by Design, up-cycling and reusing interesting pieces to create beautiful new designs. Local handbag designer, Kent Stetson, features a fun and whimsical line of bags where technology and cuttingedge techniques meet art. Melissa Thyden will show her bright and eclectic clothing line, Cosmic Unicornz, inspired by her collection of paintings. Shea High School Students from Pawtucket will show their hand-made clothing line from a variety of themes. This is a family-friendly event. Admission is FREE and an entrance donation of $5 is kindly appreciated and will support future community events produced by Rhode Island Creative Magazine.
