From Internet uploads on YouTube to Vimeo, to cell phone capture and satellite, the techniques used for modern filmmaking have changed the face of news-gathering, traditional media and narrative storytelling. Technology has allowed information to flow outside of political gatekeeping creating a true global village, bridging cultures and addressing topical social and political concerns.
