With the Worst Winter, Meals Tax Holiday A Must

ALLSTON, MA — The Restaurant and Business Alliance called on Beacon Hill to move forward with one of several Bills that already exist for a Meals Tax Holiday to help the restaurant industry battle a perfect storm of conditions exacerbated by half a dozen snow storms in less than two months.

“When a waitress loses a Saturday night to a snow storm, she can’ just catch up the next day,” said Dave Andelman, President of the Restaurant and Business Alliance. He continued, “If politicians really care about the 300,000 hospitality employees, they will pass a Meals Tax Holiday to stimulate their tips and business.”

Dave concluded, “The Restaurant and Business Alliance is proud to support several different versions of legislation that will help every waiter, waitress, bartender and hospitality worker in Massachusetts.”.

The Restaurant and Business Alliance is a trade association with a mission to foster the conditions for hiring in Massachusetts. The R.A.B.A. focuses on legislation, media and networking within the business community.
