Unique, Local Brews & Celebrity Chefs Highlight Big Brothers Big Sisters Festive “The Big Toast” Fundraiser

CRANSTON, RI – (September 10, 2012) Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State invites guests to celebrate and raise a glass at the second annual “The Big Toast” on Saturday, October 13 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts Museum, 315 Harborside Boulevard, in Providence.

This popular and unique fundraising event will offer guests an opportunity to sample, taste and savor an impressive selection of up to 50 distinctive microbrews, exquisite wines, and assorted spirits from some of the areas most talented and popular microbrewers, wineries, distillers and distributors. Participating companies include Zyr Vodka, Privateer Rum, Latis Imports, Vermont Hard Cider, Grey Sail Brewing, Cabin Fever Maple Whiskey, Frank-Lin Distillers and many more.

A line-up of top celebrity chefs, highlighted by Chef Molly Brandt, Chef de Cuisine for the Allure of the Seas cruise ship, and contestant on Bravo TV’s “Top Chef Texas,” will be on hand to demonstrate their techniques and offer guests savory samples. Also scheduled to appear will be Johnson & Wales University and “Cooking with Class” Chef Frank Terranova, Chef Rodney Burns previously from Los Angeles’ famed Tavern on Brand Restaurant, and the Big Toast Honorary Chair, and Johnson & Wales University Director of Culinary Events, the award-winning Chef TJ Delle Donne.

In addition, several top area restaurants, highlighted by Top This Fire-Grilled Pizza, El Rancho Grande, and Los Andes Restaurant will provide attendees snacks and delectable samples.

Guests will also have an opportunity to purchase a chance to win a 7 night cruise for two (a $2000 value) courtesy of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Tickets for this exclusive raffle are just $50 and only 200 will be sold.

This special event will be held in the galleries of the extraordinary Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts Museum, featuring 25,000 square feet of exhibit space that strives to interpret the evolution of food preparation and presentation, the development of culinary equipment and technology, the diverse menus offered, and the places where people partake of food.
