The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation will unveil its Starfish Project

PROVIDENCE, RI – Remarks will be provided by Secretary A. Ralph Mollis, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin, as well as Providence Mayor Angel Taveras—who will proclaim October “Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life™” month in the City of Providence.

The Foundation will also be joined by CVS Caremark’s Senior VP of Corporate Communications and Community Relations Eileen Howard Boone and make a special announcement regarding breast health outreach to local underserved communities.

MORE:  The event is open to the public. Also in attendance will be Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien, Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian, and Christopher Albert from Senator Jack Reed’s office.

The Starfish Project is the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s largest healing arts program to-date, and the captivating seven-panel art installation comprises 5,000 clay starfish that were handmade by individuals affected by breast cancer—patients, survivors, family members, friends, and medical caregivers.
