The Endometriosis Foundation of Rhode Island along with Alex and Ani will hold an event to raise awareness and funds for the very common but very misunderstood condition

On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, The Endometriosis Foundation of Rhode Island will be holding an event to raise funds and awareness of endometriosis, which affects more than 5.5 million women in the United States.

The event will take place at the corporate headquarters of Alex and Ani in Chapel View, Cranston from 6 to 8 pm. Fifteen percent of the sales that evening will be donated to the Foundation. For detailed information about this event and about endometriosis, please go to endofoundationofri.com.

Jennifer Zanni was diagnosed with Endometriosis in her early 30’s. She started the non-profit
local chapter of the national organization because the condition is very common but also very
misunderstood, and there are very few resources or groups to support women who are dealing
with this devastating condition.

“I love what we are doing for women,” says Zanni, a Lincoln resident who serves as the
Foundation’s president. “The impact this condition has is not only on the women who suffer, but
also their families and loved ones. The Foundation is dedicated to increasing awareness of
endometriosis and to contributing to ongoing and new research initiatives to help find the causes
and, hopefully, a cure.”

“I’m intrigued by this newly founded local chapter for Endometriosis because I’ve struggled
with it for over 20 years and it’s been so hard to find any sort of group or support in the area.”
Pam, Coventry, RI

“Many people may not know how serious endometriosis can be…especially for young women. If
untreated it can make it difficult, if not impossible to get pregnant and stay pregnant. I’ve seen
my sister and my best friend go through this heartache.” ~ Nancy, Warwick RI
