Ten Rhode Island Authors to help launch new John Brown House Bookshop

PROVIDENCE, RI — Ten Rhode Island authors will be conducting a combined book signing and sale to help celebrate the launch of the new bookshop in the John Brown House Museum on Thursday, June 20th from 5 to 8 p.m.

The free event is part of the June offerings for Gallery Night Providence and is sponsored by the Rhode Island Historical Society (RIHS). The event will include brief presentations from each author, refreshments, a used book sale and free tours of the first floor of the John Brown House Museum.

Authors expected to appear include:

Julien Ayotte, Flower of Heaven, (Thriller)

Sebastian Cole, Sand Dollar, (Contemporary Romance)
Carol Desforges, The Pinning, (Contemporary Fiction)
Colleen Kelly Mellor, Grandpa & The Truck, (Children’s)
Joann Mead, Underlying Crimes, (Mystery)
Steven R. Porter, Manisses, (Historical Fiction)
Lyn Stanzione, Salem’s Sight, (Young Adult)
J.J. Partridge, Straight Pool, (Mystery)
and the RIHS’s own Elyssa Tardif, Images of America: Providence’s Benefit Street (History)

The Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) is a non-profit organization of local, published writers of both fiction and non-fiction committed to raising awareness of the outstanding written works crafted by writers in Rhode Island and other nearby communities.
