Brilliant Earth Opens First East Coast Retail Location on Boston’s Newbury Street

BOSTON, MA – Brilliant Earth, the leading retail jewelry chain specializing in ethically sourced and eco-friendly fine jewelry, will open a Boston showroom on Newbury Street in  mid-January 2016.  Brilliant Earth-Boston will provide an elegant and tranquil setting to explore the company’s collection of beautifully crafted diamond engagement rings, wedding rings, fine jewelry, and one-of-a-kind vintage pieces—all guaranteed to be responsibly sourced and environmentally respectful.

At Brilliant Earth, there are 5 C’s of diamond grading: color, clarity, cut, carat and compassion. Brilliant Earth has set up a network of “responsible” suppliers to insure all stones they sell are mined without violence or exploitation. Brilliant Earth uses recycled gold and platinum to cut down on the pollution caused by precious metals mining. Additionally, Brilliant Earth donates five percent of its proceeds to help communities in developing nations impacted by the jewelry trade build a brighter future.

“Our jewelry is not only beautiful but it’s respectful of the people gathering the raw materials to make our jewelry and it’s respectful of the planet,” says Brilliant Earth cofounder and co-CEO Beth Gerstein. “We believe the high quality craftsmanship of our jewelry along with our mission will resonate in Boston.”

Brilliant Earth’s Boston retail location joins their San Francisco and Los Angeles showrooms, and is a homecoming for both Ms. Gerstein and cofounder/co-CEO Eric Grossberg. Beth is a graduate of MIT and Eric attended Harvard prior to pursuing their MBA degrees at Stanford University and founding Brilliant Earth in San Francisco in 2005.

Brilliant Earth’s by-appointment, Newbury Street showroom offers individualized one-hour sessions focusing on helping customers select their ideal diamond and ring setting in relaxed environment. Jewelry spets also provide information about diamond sourcing practices and the changing face of the contemporary diamond industry.

Store hours will be Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-7pm, by appointment. For more information, visit
