RISBJ Staff | Dec 06, 2013
PROVIDENCE, RI – The Health Insurance Small Employer Taskforce will host Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Roberts at its next member meeting for small business owners and nonprofit leaders.
Roberts will present the latest developments on the State Healthcare Innovation Plan (SHIP), which “is meant to serve as a roadmap for changing our state’s health care system, moving away from care paid on a volume basis to a coordinated system of care supported by payment based on value.”
The Taskforce will also hear from the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner. Commissioner Kathleen Hittner and Director of Analytics Kim Paull will speak to the Office’s role in state healthcare planning and the importance of employer input in the ongoing process.
All Taskforce meetings are free and open to the public. Small employers—especially those with 50 or fewer employees—are encouraged to attend with their questions and to share their feedback. Employers will also learn about the work of the Health Insurance Small Employer Taskforce and how they can join.
