Small businesses invited to Mayor’s SBA Workshop on Business Continuity Planning

PROVIDENCE, RI – Mayor Angel Taveras and Economic Development Director James Bennett invite Providence’s small businesses to a free upcoming workshop, “Business Continuity Planning,” hosted by the Mayor and the U.S. Small Business Administration.  The workshop will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 10 am to 12 noon, in the Doorley Municipal Building, 444 Westminster Street, Providence, 1st floor main conference room.

This workshop will guide business owners in preparing for and responding  to  a natural or other disaster.  The 2-hour session will help them develop a plan to protect their personnel and property, and learn how to effectively respond after one occurs.  The free session is part of a series of monthly workshops  launched last year, by Mayor Taveras and the U.S. Small Business Administration.  Speakers include:  Lori Adamo, Code Red, and Col. Peter Gaynor, Dir. of the Providence Emergency Management Agency.
