ShapeUp Celebrates a Record-Breaking Year in Corporate Wellness

PROVIDENCE, RI — ShapeUp, the global provider of social networking and incentives-based employee wellness solutions, today released the results of its most successful year in the company’s history. In 2013, the company achieved significant revenue growth, expanded its innovative product offerings, and welcomed hundreds of new customers. This strong trend of growth and innovation is expected to continue in 2014 and beyond.

Highlights from 2013 include:

 Acquiring over one million participants across 128 countries

  • Shipping over 400,000 activity tracking devices to members worldwide
  • Helping participants reach their health goals, with cumulative results including 620 billion steps walked, 2 billion exercise minutes, and 523,877 pounds of weight loss (the equivalent of 87,021 Body Mass Index points)
  • Launching ShapeUp Complete, a turnkey wellness platform designed to support small- and medium-sized companies with 100-5,000 employees
  • Enhancing our relationship with Fitlinxx to offer an affordable and easy-to-use wireless tracking device that provides a deeply integrated participant experience and validated data for outcomes-based incentives
  • Opening a West Coast office to expand the company’s presence from coast to coast
  • Growing to a full-time staff of 75 employees, including new CFO Ann Brady
  • Servicing and delighting multiple jumbo employer clients, each with over 100,000 employees
  • Raising $7.5 million in new investment capital to fund mobile technology and global capabilities along with new engagement tools
  • Achieving over 50% growth in revenue
  • Reaching operational profitability

These mobile app enhancements are being developed alongside the company’s real-time rewards platform, reporting and analytics tools, biometric data integration capabilities, a personalization engine, and an expanded approach to comprehensive wellness that incorporates emotional and mental wellbeing.
