EAST GREENWICH, RI – Seth Kurn, Executive Vice President at New England Institute of Technology, announced the following appointments at the college.

Ehlers Appointed Vice President

Kathleen A. Ehlers of Brockton, MA, has been appointed Vice President of Enrollment Management at New England Institute of Technology.  Ehlers will oversee the Admissions and Financial Aid Departments. She brings a wealth of knowledge to NEIT with more than 20 years of direct experience in admissions, financial aid, and campus operations.

Prior to joining New England Tech, Ehlers served as the Regional Director of Admissions for South University with 11 campuses nationwide, Campus President at American Career Institute with locations in Woburn, MA and Braintree, MA, as well as the Executive Director of Career Education Institute in Brockton, MA.

Ehlers is a graduate of South University in Savannah, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Laflamme Named Chief Information Officer

Jacques N. Laflamme of Smithfield, RI, joins New England Institute of Technology as Chief Information Officer bringing more than 25 years of MIS experience in higher education and business. Prior to his new position at NEIT, Laflamme served as the Director of Network Services at Harvard University. His business experience includes positions with Thompson Financial, State Street Corporation, and Fidelity Investments, all located in Boston, MA.

Laflamme holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Technology/MIS and an Associate in Science Degree in Telecommunications from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He has participated in the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program and has earned several IT certifications.

Marcotte Joins MIS Department

Robert  J. Marcotte of North Smithfield, RI, will serve as Software Developer in New England Institute of Technology’s MIS Department providing operational support and strategic direction for data architecture, reporting tools and applications. Marcotte has more than 20 years of professional database, application development and programming experience based in manufacturing, healthcare, insurance, financial, municipal government and small business. His most recent positions include Production Programmer with Shoreline Business Solutions of North Kingstown, RI, and Data Analyst and Programmer for the RI Primary Care Physicians Corporation in Cranston, RI.

Marcotte has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science from Rhode Island College as well as an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Programming from Bristol Community College. He has also earned a Certificate of Leadership in Management from Bryant College.
