Salvatore Named Government Affairs Director of R.I. Association of Realtors

WARWICK, RI – David Salvatore of Providence has been named government affairs director for the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. His primary responsibilities will involve the Association’s outreach efforts concerning legislative and regulatory initiatives with potential impact on real estate and housing. Currently a policy analyst for the Rhode Island House of Representatives, Salvatore will bring a wealth of public policy experience to his new position.

Salvatore holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Management at Rhode Island College and is currently working toward a Master of Public Administration degree from Roger Williams University. After gaining managerial experience during a 14-year career with Staples, Inc., he took a five-year post as a program and business services manager with the Office of the General Treasurer. In 2013, he joined the Rhode Island House of Representatives as a policy analyst where he researched policy issues and authored and shared reports that contributed to Rhode Island’s policy changes relative to business competitiveness. He also serves as a Providence city councilman.

“We’re very excited that someone of David’s caliber has agreed to join us in our government affairs initiatives. His experience will help us promote a legislative environment in which a strong housing market provides opportunities for all Rhode Islanders. It’s important to understand that housing is an important economic driver. With David’s help, we hope to promote state and local initiatives to enhance the state’s economy,” said Philip Tedesco, chief executive officer of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.

Salvatore is a life-long resident of Providence, Rhode Island. He will assume his new position with the Rhode Island Association of Realtors in December.
