RI Department of Labor and Training Is Advising Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) Claimants Who Filed Claims between Monday, July 14, at 3:30 P.M. and 9:30 A.M. Today to Re-file Claims

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training is advising workers who filed Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) claims through DLTs online TDI portal between Monday, July 14,at 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. today to re-file their claims as soon as possible to ensure a timely benefit payment.

Members of DLTs Income Support and IT divisions learned of and corrected the systems glitch at 9:30 a.m. July 15. Only claimants who filed claims electronically in this 18-hour window may have been affected. DLT is estimating that 25 or fewer claims were filed in this time period.

No other claimants who filed electronically at any other point yesterday or today were affected.

“DLT understands the importance of TDI payments for Rhode Islands workers, who exclusively fund the TDI program, Michael J. Healey, DLTs chief public affairs officer, said. “Especially in an instance like this, its important to correct the matter quickly and clearly notify customers. We encourage TDI claimants whose claims may have been affected to re-file electronically so that we can process their claims and ensure a timely benefit payment.”
