R&D Technologies Relocates, Expands Staff

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – R&D Technologies, Inc., a reseller of the Stratasys line of additive manufacturing/3D rapid prototyping systems throughout New England, has relocated to the Gateway Offices at the Quonset Business Park. The move enables the company to expand its office size as well as accommodate its growing employee base.
The following individuals have joined the R&D staff:
Shawn Reilly
As operations manager, Shawn Reilly is responsible for business operations, sales, design/prototype consulting and client service. Previously, Mr. Reilly worked as a contract service manager for Carousel Industries of North America (Exeter, R.I.) where he contributed to sales and customer service, and managed customer agreements and contracts. He is a 1989 graduate of Rhode Island College (Providence, R.I.) with a bachelor’s degree in public administration, and resides in Wakefield, R.I.
Benjamin Gardell
Benjamin Gardell joins R&D as a sales representative. A 2013 graduate of the University of New Hampshire (Durham, N.H.) with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, he is responsible for the sales of R&D’s full line of Stratasys additive manufacturing machines throughout the Southern Rhode Island and Connecticut territory. He was previously an engineering intern for R&D Technologies, Inc., and resides in West Kingston, R.I.
Eric Doremus
As service technician, Eric Doremus is responsible for assisting with service bureau operations throughout the U.S., as well as technical support for R&D clients throughout New England. He is a 2013 graduate of Roger Williams University (Bristol, R.I.) with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). He was previously an engineering intern for R&D Technologies, Inc., and resides in East Greenwich, R.I.
Nicholas Provenzano
Nicholas Provenzano joins R&D as an electronic and robotic engineer. A 2013 graduate of Johnson & Wales University (Providence, R.I.) with a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and an associate’s degree in robotics, he is responsible for assisting with service bureau operations for R&D’s clients throughout the U.S. He previously interned at Neuron Robotics (Worcester, Mass.) where he designed three-dimensional models using CAD software, and produced them using a 3D printer. He resides in Providence, R.I.
Gemma Downey
Gemma Downey joins R&D as a sales representative. A 2013 graduate of the University of Rhode Island (URI) with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, she is responsible for the sales of R&D’s full line of Stratasys machines throughout the Northern Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts territory. She was previously a research and development engineering intern for the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory at URI (North Kingstown, R.I.) where she led teams developing assistive technology for patients with developmental disabilities. She resides in Rehoboth, Mass.
