PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA)General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo and the Capital Good Fund met recently to discuss ways to expand financial coaching to the community.

During the session, RISCPA members learned about the Rhode Island Financial Coaching Corps. CPAs in attendance who were interested in the opportunity signed up to become volunteers for the Corps.

The Financial Coaching Corps empowers Rhode Islanders to take charge of their finances. The goal is to match volunteers with financial skills and know-how with people looking to learn how to make their money work for them.

“Rhode Island is a small state, and we have an opportunity to make a big impact with this program,” said Robert Mancini, Executive Director of RISCPA. “Our members are talented, accomplished and committed to helping Rhode Islanders become financially empowered.”

“Members of RISCPA are already good corporate citizens, and can often be found volunteering and making a difference,” Treasurer Raimondo said. “By joining the Financial Coaching Corps, they are growing their commitment to making our state’s economy stronger.”

RISCPA is an important part of the socio-economic fabric of Rhode Island. In addition to serving as independent and objective advisors to individuals and businesses, they are active as volunteers in their communities, providing their expertise gratis to charities, causes, civic groups, foundations, and other not-for profit organizations.
