Kickstarter Campaign to Launch the Nation’s First Food Tourism Conference Successfully Reaches Goal

Providence, RI – Taste Trekkers, the nation’s first food tourism conference, will definitely launch in Providence, Rhode Island this fall. The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to raise capital for the conference successfully reached its fundraising goal on Saturday. This event, which will take on September 20-22, is designed for people who plan their vacations around food. It will showcase cuisines from different regions around the country, and also promote the city of Providence as a culinary destination.

Conference Producer Seth Resler has already lined up a roster of high-profile culinary talent to speak at the event, including James Beard Award nominee Matt Jennings of Farmstead, Michael Clayton of Trace and Trust, Frank Martucci of the United State Bartenders’ Guild, chocolatier Tim Brown, and Omar and Cesin Curi of Los Andes restaurant. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. The conference will also feature a cocktail reception, a tasting pavilion, a food truck court, and group dinners all around the city.

Taste Trekkers, the nation’s first food tourism conference, will be held September 20th through the 22nd in Providence, Rhode Island. Taste Trekkers is produced by Seth Resler, founder of the nationwide social dining group Mystery Meet. Mystery Meet brings together adventurous foodies for a night of social dining at the hottest restaurants. There’s only one catch…you don’t know where you’re going until 24 hours in advance! Resler has been involved in the production of hundreds of events, including the WBRU Summer Concert Series, the New England Nightclub and Bar Expo, and the Global Institute for Leadership Development. His events have been recognized by the Mayor of Providence with a Citizen Citation.
