Karma Couture Holds Food Drive To Benefit RI Food Bank

EAST GREENWICH, RI – (November 8, 2012) Karma Couture, an upscale designer consignment shops located at 591 Main Street in East Greenwich, will be hosting a week long fundraiser (Nov 12-18) and food drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Karma Couture is asking customers to participate by collecting and dropping off non-perishable food items to the store during normal business hours from November 12th – 18th. Customers will also receive a 5% store discount in exchange for every donated item (up to 30%). In addition, the store will donate a portion of proceeds of week’s sales to the Rhode Island Food Bank.

What: Donate non-perishable food items

Protein
• Peanut butter
• Tuna
• Canned and dried beans
• Canned chili, soups and stews

Carbohydrates
• Nutritious breakfast cereals
• Whole wheat pasta
• Brown rice
• Boxed macaroni & cheese
• Granola bars
• Cheese & cracker packages

Fruits & Vegetables
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Dried fruit
• Tomato sauce
• Jams and jelly

“In this season of giving, we are asking our customers to join us in collecting non-perishable food items for donation to the RI Food Bank. Your donations help to ensure that nobody in Rhode Island will go hungry this holiday season. For every item donated, we’re giving a 5% store discount up to a maximum of 30% off all store inventory. Please help us make this an overwhelming success by spreading the word to your families and friends,” says Sarah Kirinsky, Karma Couture.
Those unable to attend the food drive can still participate, by making a donation directly to the Food Bank by visiting RIFoodBank.org.
