John Capone Joins Duffy & Sweeney Intellectual Property Team

PROVIDENCE, RI – The law firm of Duffy & Sweeney is proud to announce that attorney John Capone has joined the firm as a Senior Counsel.

John Capone has broad-based experience prosecuting and litigating intellectual property rights for multinational technology companies as senior in-house counsel and in private practice. John served as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel to GTECH and is a registered patent attorney. He focuses on licensing and transactional negotiations, security and compliance matters, and all facets of intellectual property law from strategic counseling to complex litigation disputes.

He joins the firm’s Intellectual Property team whose proven track record of aggressively and efficiently enforcing clients’ IP rights nationally and internationally has earned the team recognition by Best Law Firms/Best Lawyers in conjunction with US News & World Reports and other attorney-ranking organizations.

A resident of Providence’s East Side, Capone is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (B.S. 1997); Tufts University (B.A. 1982); and Case Western Reserve University – School of Law (J.D., 1985). He is admitted to practice in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
