James Ruggieri Invited to Join Claims and Litigation Management Alliance

PROVIDENCE, RI – James A. Ruggieri, a partner with Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney LLP in Providence, has accepted an invitation to join the membership of the prestigious Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).

CLM is a nonpartisan alliance comprised of leading insurance companies, corporations, corporate counsel, litigation and risk managers, claims professionals and attorneys. Through education and collaboration, the organization’s goals are to create a common interest in the representation by law firms of companies, and to promote and further the highest standards of litigation management in pursuit of client defense.

Selected attorneys are invited to join based on nominations from CLM Fellows, who include the nation’s foremost risk managers, claims managers and adjusters, general counsel, insurance company executives, brokers, and service providers.

Ruggieri devotes a substantial portion of his litigation practice to the defense of insurance coverage matters in the areas of extra-contractual liability, claims handling, coverage and bad faith.  He also represents major corporations in the defense of product liability and employment law claims.

He joined Higgins Cavanagh & Cooney in 1984. Among his other professional affiliations, Ruggieri  is a sustaining member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, an association of more than 100 leading product manufacturers and 350 of the premier product liability defense counsel in the United States and abroad.
