WARWICK, RI –In the last three years, Alliance Security—a small but flourishing business located in Warwick—has sold and installed over 70,000 home security and automation systems throughout the country. According to MarketsandMarkets, a global market research and consulting company, the global home security solutions market is expected to grow to $34.46 billion in 2017. The US has held the largest share in the industry for the past three years.

Its highly skilled workforce, product line consisting of the latest cutting-edge technologies, and unmatched customer service are the driving forces behind Alliance Security’s success, according to Jay Gotra, the company’s chief executive officer. “It’s really been about creating opportunities for both our growing team and customer base,” said the 32 year-old who was named Rhode Island and New England SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year three years in a row.

In 2003, having spent a couple of years working for an alarm systems company, the opportunity of entering the rapidly growing residential security and automation market came knocking on his door. And he answered. Sparked by ambition and an entrepreneurial spirit, Gotra started his own business selling and marketing home security systems with, at the time, just one employee from the spare bedroom in his condo.

Gotra gained traction and moved his operations to an office space, slowly growing a sales and marketing team, customer service department, and group of in-house technicians. A loan from the Small Business Administration in August 2009 was used to purchase a 15,000 square foot commercial building off of Jefferson Boulevard, propelling the once small venture towards long-term sustainability and further growth.

Alliance Security is currently the number one dealer for the third largest security alarm monitoring company in the country—Monitronics International, which monitors the systems that Alliance Security sells and installs. “Simply stated, Monitronics is the best at what they do,” said Gotra. “Our partnership with Monitronics exemplifies our desire to offer premium quality of service to our customers.” Alliance Security’s rationale is the same when it comes to the home security and automation technologies it sells and installs to customers in 22 states throughout the country.

Referring to Alliance Security’s line of state-of-the-art products that includes 2GIG’s Go!Control, the first all-in-one security and home management system, Brian Fabiano— chief operating officer of Alliance Security—added, “These are the very same systems that we use in our own homes to protect our families.”

Through the years, Alliance Security has been recognized for its business practices and accomplishments. In addition to Gotra’s personal accolades, General Electric in 2010 presented Gotra and his executive team with its prestigious GE Freedom Award, a distinction awarded to companies that exhibit top product sales and customer satisfaction. More recently, Senator Jack Reed visited Alliance Security’s Warwick office in April to acknowledge the company’s contribution to the local economy.

Alliance Security, which has a little over 200 employees, expects to close 2013 with $30 million in revenue—a growth of 25% compared to performance in 2012.  Alliance Security, which aims to create 300 more jobs in the next couple of years, owes its success to the corporate culture that the management team has worked to put into place.

“Cultivating a happy, motivated, and dedicated workforce is fundamental to our ability to maintain and improve the customer service experience,” said Fabiano. “We see it as a very positive domino effect because when our employees feel valued, they are thrilled to come to work, which in turn translates into meaningful interactions with our customers.”

What’s next for Alliance Security? The company’s future depends on its ability to continue providing opportunities to its employees and customers, says Fabiano. “We’re committed to nurturing employee growth and development within our company and giving our customers access to the latest and greatest technologies.” Gotra added, “As a result, we’ll continue to earn their trust and loyalty, leading to organic growth for Alliance Security.”
