Hope & Main Invites Community to “Meet Your Maker” at Holiday Market on November 23

WARREN, R.I., Nov. 10, 2014 – Those looking to get a jump on their holiday shopping can head to Hope & Main on Sunday, November 23, for the food business incubator’s ‘Meet Your Maker’ Holiday Market. The event will take place from 1-5 p.m., and will feature dozens of specialty food products from Hope & Main member companies, as well as a number of community partners, for purchase or pre-order for the holidays.

Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to register ahead to be entered into a raffle to win a holiday gift basket, comprised of specialty food products and other items from Hope & Main member companies.

Community members are invited to indulge in hot cider and cocoa, listen to live music and sample local food products, all while supporting local makers as they shop for the holidays. The indoor market, the first for the nonprofit food business incubator which opened its doors last month, will showcase a variety of local products from pickles and jams, to cheeses and cooking oils, to winter produce and holiday breads.

Hope & Main holiday gift baskets will also be for sale with net proceeds going toward the upfitting of facility’s new demonstration kitchen and classroom designed to deliver education about local food, food preparation and nutrition to the community.

Among the afternoon’s highlights, children and families are also invited to join Bella Piccolina for a food-filled trip to Italy – without leaving Warren. Participants will learn about Italian culture and cuisine, and help instructor Daniela Mansella with a hands-on, pasta-making team experience. Classes will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., and are free of charge.

The ‘Meet Your Maker’ Holiday Market will take place at Hope & Main, located at 691 Main Street in Warren. Parking is available at the Warren Park & Ride, directly across the street. Hope & Main is also located along the RIPTA 60 bus line.
