Hometown NFL Star Stephen Gostkowski Announces 2015 “Kick 4 Kids” Challenge to Benefit Hasbro Children’s Hospital during Local Visit

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Fresh off a bye week that came early for his team during this year’s grueling 17 week NFL regular season, hometown kicker Stephen Gostkowski bypassed Foxboro to stop in Rhode Island to make a special announcement that will impact the lives of local children.

Making an appearance at the Cranston Walmart on Plainfield Pike alongside representatives of Hasbro Children’s Hospital and local fans, Gostkowski announced the start of his “Kick 4 Kids” challenge campaign to raise funds for the hospital. Walmart, a dedicated partner of Hasbro Children’s Hospital, is supporting this year’s challenge by donating $250 to the hospital for every field goal Stephen makes during the regular season.

From now through December 31, Gostkowski will match all donations to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, up to a total of $10,000, made to his “Kick 4 Kids” challenge, helping donors’ generosity go twice as far to help sick children. And, when donors step up to Stephen’s challenge with gifts of $100, $500 or $1,000, they’ll be eligible for special thank you gifts, while supplies last. Gifts include an autographed photo of Gostkowski, a team pennant signed by Stephen, and a Stephen Gostkowski autographed official jersey. Gifts to the “Kick 4 Kids” challenge may be made securely online.

“New England long ago became more than a second home for my family and me, and with that is an opportunity to give back to the community,” said Gostkowski. “Helping children is something that is very important to me—I can’t think of a better way to make a difference than through an institution like Hasbro Children’s Hospital that does so much to help so many.”

During his time at Walmart in Cranston, Gostkowski took photos with fans and signed hundreds of autographs—everything from footballs and helmets to holiday ornaments and t-shirts. While many were quick to congratulate him for his part in the hometown team’s impressive start, even more thanked him for his generous support of Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
