Grant Writing Workshop Offered

WOONSOCKET, RI – Blackstone Heritage Corridor is offering a two-hour grant writing workshop on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The program will be held at their offices located at One Depot Square in Woonsocket, RI. The workshop is free and includes handouts and refreshments.

Focused on basic grant writing skills, the workshop will be presented by Charlene Perkins Cutler, Executive Director of Blackstone Heritage Corridor. Ms. Cutler has 30 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising and nonprofit management.

Every grant application, whether simple or complex, requires the applicant to make a clear and succinct case for their funding needs. Participants will learn to present their projects to potential funders by identifying and capitalizing on their organization’s uniqueness and pairing their request with the appropriate funding source. The Blackstone Heritage Corridor administers a grant program and Ms. Cutler will use the requirements associated with that program to illustrate helpful points to those attending the workshop. The workshop will be structured with ample time for questions and answers.

While the workshop is free, space is limited. Register by calling Barbara Dixon, Special Events Coordinator for Blackstone Heritage Corridor at 401-762-0250, ext. 5503.
