WESTERLY, RI — Washington Trust recently announced Kristen O’Mahony Franco of Wakefield, RI as I Luv RI’s Photo Contest winner for August’s “Favorite Spot for Pets” theme.  Franco’s photo of a black labradoodle playing fetch on Lloyd’s Beach in Little Compton, RI appears in the August issue of Rhode Island Monthly.

In describing the photo Franco stated, “I was searching for heart rocks on the beach when I heard a dog barking. I looked up and saw him leaping and bounding with a stick in his mouth. I loved the look of joy on the dog’s face. It was a small moment that made me happy the rest of the day.” She added, “The photo captures what I love about Rhode Island.”

“Rhode Island has a lot of great spots for people to bring their pets,” said Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust Chairman, President and CEO.  Adding, “There’s nothing better than an endless stretch of beach for a dog to play fetch.”

The “I Luv RI” photo contest is sponsored by Washington Trust in conjunction with Rhode Island Monthly. Photographers may enter by sending their favorite Rhode Island photo to: I LUV RI – Rhode Island, or by visiting www.iluvri.com.
