Facebook is coming to Providence to “Boost Your Business”

Providence, RI– Facebook will be co-hosting a Boost Your Business event with the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, April 10th at 9:00 am. Businesses from the area have been invited to attend this free educational event. We will have a presentation by a Facebook expert on how to use the platform effectively to maximize your business potential.

Last year, Facebook announced its commitment to training 1 million people and small business owners across the US by 2020. As part of this effort, they are coming to Providence to empower local small businesses with the digital skills needed to compete in today’s economy. Facebook knows that small businesses can utilize the platform as a tool to help them grow their businesses. There are more than 1.6 billion people connected with a small business on Facebook.

Businesses run by African Americans, Latinos, veterans and those with a disability are twice as likely to say that their business was built on Facebook, and one and a half times more likely to say they’ve hired more people since joining the platform. In Rhode Island, 63%of SMBs on the platform says Facebook allows them to find customers in other cities, states or countries and 76%believe individuals digital and social media skills are important when hiring.
