Family Service of Rhode Island has a waiting list of children needing loving homes.  These boys and girls may have been removed from their families due to physical abuse, parent drug and alcohol abuse, neglect or other issues.

The youngsters on the current list are from Bristol, Coventry, Cumberland, Narragansett, Newport, Providence, Smithfield, Warwick, Warren, and Woonsocket.  The children range between 11 and 18 years old.

To help find these youngsters homes, Family Service of Rhode Island is holding an information open house for anyone, from any part of the state, interested in becoming a foster parent on Wednesday, March 26, 5 to 7 p.m. in the agency’s offices at 134 Thurbers Avenue, Providence, moments off Route 95.

Weekly payment to foster parents help to support the placement of the child, and Family Service of Rhode Island provides on-call support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.

For more information on how you can change a child’s life, contact Greg Wright at 401-331-1350 ext. 3305, wrightgr@familyserviceri.org, or visit www.familyserviceri.org.
