Elorza Hires Campaign Manager

Providence, RI – In continuing to the lay the groundwork in his run for Mayor of Providence, today Jorge Elorza announced the hiring of Marisa O’Gara to manage his campaign.
“Marisa will be a strong addition to our team”, said Elorza. “She brings a wealth of experience in City government and in political campaigns, and she represents the importance of young people in politics. I am excited to have her on board.”
O’Gara, a well-known community organizer, currently serves as Policy Director for the Young Democrats of RI and on the Planned Parenthood Young Professionals Steering Committee. She previously worked for Sheldon Whitehouse’s 2012 U.S. Senate reelection bid and Rhode Islanders United for Marriage. O’Gara leaves her current position of Deputy Director of Community Relations in Mayor Angel Taveras’s Office on January 12th and officially begins her new role as campaign manager on Monday, January 13th.
O’Gara is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island Honors Program.
