Elder Care Forum addresses issues and solutions for adult children and caretakers Keystone Real Estate Group, Inc, joins panel of experts

CRANSTON, RI – (October 30, 2012) Is my mother just forgetful or is it something more?  How do we set up bank accounts to help manage money for parents who are unable to write checks anymore? Who makes medical decisions if a loved one is unable to speak for themselves? If my parents aren’t safe to live alone, who do I call to sell their home who will be compassionate with their situation?

As loved ones age, questions about healthcare, finances and quality of life are inevitable.

Many Rhode Islanders are in desperate need of supportive solutions to eldercare issues. In November, the Cranston Chamber of Commerce Women in Business presents its first “Elder Care Forum” featuring a panel of experts to answer questions and concerns.

Free and open to the public, the Elder Care Forum will be held on November 8th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Hope Alzheimer’s Center at 25 Brayton Avenue in Cranston.

The expert panel will include Valerie Topp, Home Instead Senior Care; Mike Buco, New York Life; Gina Pereira, Centerville Bank; Jean Allard, Keystone Real Estate Group, Inc.; Kristen Moonan, Moonan, Stratton & Waldman; and Cynthia Conant-Arp, Hope Alzheimer’s Center.

According to panelist Jean Allard, Senior Real Estate Spet and Vice President of Keystone Real Estate Group, Inc., planning ahead is critical as loved ones age. The firm has a dedicated division specializing in home sales for seniors and Allard has received additional training to best serve the unique needs of older clients.

Allard is an active member of the Cranston Chamber Women in Business, Rhode Island Assisted Living Association, as well as the Senior Agenda Coalition, the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Keystone Real Estate Group President and Principal Broker Dan Awde was recently named to the Board of the Hope Alzheimer’s Center.
