Douglas P. Guilbert Named District General Agent for Colonial Life

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (August 22, 2012 ) — Douglas P. Guilbert has been named district general agent for the Providence, R.I., sales district of Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company. In his new position with Colonial Life, Guilbert is responsible for building a sales team to market the company’s products, programs and services in the area.

Previously, Guilbert served as agency development manager for Colonial Life and has received numerous sales and management awards from the company. He is an accredited advisor and has earned his property and casualty, life and health, and series 6 and 63 licenses. Guilbert is licensed to sell insurance in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Washington.

Guilbert currently serves on the board of directors of Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island. He was the 2010 chairman of the North Smithfield Great Pumpkin Festival which attracted more than 5,000 people attendees. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, is a past president of the Smithfield Lions Club and served on the organization’s board of directors.
