Cornerstone Group Announces Health Benefits Survey of Area Employers – Companies with 50+ Employees Who Participate Will Receive Customized Results

Warwick, RI – Cornerstone Group, a Warwick-based benefit advisory firm, announced today that it will conduct a survey of RI, MA and CT businesses with 50 or more full-time employees about their benefits to determine how their plans compare both locally and nationally. The survey, available at www.teamcornerstone.com/benefitssurvey2014, opens July 7, 2014, and must be completed by September 18, 2014.

 
The web-based study will ask employers multiple choice questions about benefit costs and coverage, including:

  • Benefits Offered
  • Deductibles
  • Office Visit Copayments
  • Retail Prescription Drug Copayments
  • Medical Plan Cost Increases
  • Monthly Premiums (Single/Family)
  • Monthly Employee Contributions (%) (Single/Family)
  • Wellness
  • Disease Management

 

The results will be analyzed by actuarial and consulting firm Milliman USA, who will use the data to determine a baseline plan for the surveyed companies so employers can see how they compare. “Health insurance plans and costs vary greatly among companies, and this survey is designed to help employers understand some averages so they can see how their benefits stack up,” said Rob Calise, Principal of Cornerstone Group.

 

The results will also reveal strategies companies are using in the era of healthcare reform, cost control approaches, and trends in plan design. “In today’s dynamic market, employers want to know how to best approach benefits and structure their offerings, and they can gain valuable insight by understanding what other companies are doing in the local market,” added Calise.

 

Cornerstone’s online survey will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Responses will be kept confidential. Each survey participant will receive a customized report benchmarking their specific plan design information both nationally and with in RI, MA and CT. The results will also be presented during a Cornerstone Group seminar on October 2, 2014, at the CrownePlaza in Warwick.
