Christen Robbins, AIA of Vision 3 Architects is an Honorable Mention Design Winner of the Providence Carbon Challenge Competition

Providence, RI – Competition participants developed a Habitat for Humanity home design for a vacant lot at 24 Hannah Street in Providence.  Designers determined the impact of the greenhouse gas emissions from the products in their design while achieving a low carbon footprint. Christen designed a 1,400 s.f., 4-bedroom home and received an Honorable Mention Award for “Most Cost-Effective Design” at the awards ceremony on March 26. A total of 144 designers entered the Carbon Challenge competition in Providence and a simultaneous contest in Baltimore. The Carbon Challenge Providence is held in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island—Greater Providence and AIA Rhode Island.

Christen, a LEED Accredited Professional, graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2006. She joined Vision 3 Architects shortly after graduation as an Intern Architect. Christen is currently a member of the project teams for Briarcliffe Cottage, a new 20-bed nursing/rehabilitation facility, as well as the addition/renovation of the Butterfield Dining Hall at the University of Rhode Island which is designed to LEED Silver specifications. Christen resides in Warwick with her husband.
