Kevin Kiernan, CPA, MST Joins DiSanto, Priest & Co.

(Warwick, Rhode Island) – March 15, 2018 – Kevin Kiernan, CPA, MST, a veteran of public accounting and global taxation, joined DiSanto, Priest & Co. earlier this month to serve as the firm’s Director of International Tax.

Prior to joining DiSanto, Priest & Co., Kevin led the international tax function for two U.S.-based, multi-billion-dollar multinationals where he was responsible for international tax and transfer pricing planning, compliance, financial reporting, and tax controversy. In addition to his many years in the industry, he has also worked with the international accounting firm KPMG.

Kevin has extensive experience with U.S. international tax compliance matters and brings practical experience and understanding of U.S. and foreign transfer pricing rules. He has led numerous transfer pricing design and implementation projects focusing on integration and alignment of business and tax objectives while limiting tax controversy risk. Kevin also has significant experience managing and directing U.S. and foreign country tax and transfer pricing audits, appeals and litigation proceedings, and has achieved favorable resolutions for numerous Mutual Agreement Procedure cases.

Kevin received his undergraduate degree with a concentration in accounting from Western New England University as well as a Master of Science in Taxation from Bryant University, graduating from both programs summa cum laude. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA).

In his new role, Kevin will provide DiSanto, Priest & Co. clients with a variety of international taxation and advisory services.

Keara Duffy Promoted to Staff Architect

Keara Duffy, RA, NCARB recently completed the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE), and was awarded a license to practice architecture in Rhode Island. She joins the ranks at Vision 3 Architects as the Firm’s 12th registered architect. Graduating second in her class, with a Masters in Architecture from Roger Williams University, Keara began her career at Vision 3 completing two internships. She joined the firm full-time as an Intern Architect and after five years with the firm, is now Staff Architect. Keara is currently working on University Medicine Endoscopy, Thundermist Health Center – West Warwick and Woonsocket, and conceptual designs for Blackstone Medical Center.

 

 

Emma Dowden Promoted to Staff Architect

Emma Dowden, RA, recently completed the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE), and was awarded a license to practice architecture in Rhode Island. She joins the ranks at Vision 3 Architects as the Firm’s 13th registered architect. Emma graduated from Roger Williams University with a Master of Architecture in 2014. She began her career at Vision 3 completing an internship during her senior year and working part-time during school until she joined the firm full-time as an Intern Architect after graduation. She is currently working with the Education Team on renovations to housing and classrooms for Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the recently completed bar/lounge renovations for Foxwoods Resort Casino.

 

Brittani Fleury Promoted to Senior Interior Designer

Vision 3 Architects recently announced the promotion of Brittani Fleury, IIDA, NCIDQ to Senior Interior Designer. She has been with the Firm over three years. As a member of the Vision 3 Corporate Office Team, Brittani is currently working on the new RI Attorney General Customer Service Center in Cranston, and recently completed renovations to the Providence Water Supply Board, Central Operations Facility in Providence, RI.

 

Rebecca Fletcher, New Hire at Vision 3 Architects

Rebecca Fletcher joined Vision 3 Architects as an Architectural Designer. She graduated from University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Rebecca is currently working on the Vision 3 Education Team on renovation projects for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Teresa Alden, New Hire at Vision 3 Architects

Teresa Alden, NCIDQ has joined Vision 3 Architects as Senior Interior Designer bringing over 18 years of experience in Education, Civic, Residential, Office and Hospitality design. Teresa graduated from the Boston Architectural College with a Bachelor of Interior Design and, prior to joining Vision 3, owned her own business, adlo designs. She now joins the Vision 3 Education Team and is currently working on designs for Coastal Medical, Children’s Friend, and Cardinal Spellman High School.

 

Jorge Saenz, New Hire at Vision 3 Architects

Jorge Saenz joined Vision 3 Architects as an Architectural Designer. Jorge received his Master of Architecture from Roger Williams University and is currently working as a member of the Corporate Office Team on renovations for Amica Insurance, CBIZ Tofias, and Children’s Friend.

Executives Association of Rhode Island Names New Board Members

The RI chapter of the International Executives Association has named its board members for the 2018-2019 year.  JoEllen Wunner, of Wickford, was elected President.  Wunner is a realtor with Weichert Realtors Cress & Company, based in East Greenwich. She has been a licensed Realtor since 2008, and is a Zillow Premier Agent, Weichert Lead Network, and Weichert Relocation spet.  Joellen has received  the Weichert, Realtors Executive Club Award status consistently since 2013, and has been an active member of the RI Executives Association for several years.

SENEDIA is sponsoring RI STEAM Day at the Rhode Island State House in Providence, RI to highlight the numerous initiatives of excellence in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) education, throughout Rhode Island. Schools, students and programs are being invited to showcase and promote their work and talents, bringing awareness to the various STEAM opportunities across the state that are available to students and their families. Parents, students, teachers, administrators, local and state leaders, representatives from industry, and community partners are all invited to attend.
The event will include interactive displays throughout the state house rotunda that will be informative and allow for student and family engagement. A portion of the program will acknowledge excellence in RI STEAM by state leadership. New Veterans Internship Program

In addition to SENEDIA’s current cyber/IT and engineering internship programs, SENEDIA received a 2018 Real Jobs RI grant through the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training to help military veterans explore career opportunities through meaningful civilian internships. We are looking for organizations interested in sponsoring internships for our veterans, as well as veterans who seek employment opportunities.Internships and interests may be in a number of employment sectors including: Engineering and Science, Technology, Professional Services, Business Services, Logistic Services, Manufacturing, Administrative Services, and the Trades. Working with the RI Office of Veterans Affairs, state academic institutions, and other state resources/companies to connect veterans to civilian career opportunities, SENEDIA is helping veterans leverage their unique set of skills, experiences and leadership abilities developed during their years in the military.
