The Hive RI and Speaking of Success, LLC are re-launching their Thursday Lunch & Learn series on June 8. Speaking of Success, LLC, has joined with the Hive RI to enroll speakers who are experts in issues that are pertinent to the Rhode Island business community. Our exciting June lineup is as follows:

On June 4, Rich Austin, President of Speaking of Success, LLC will be delivering “Writing for Web”. This will focus on what works (and what doesn’t) for web content. If visitors to your website are bouncing, this is a great opportunity to find our how to get them to stay.

On June 11, Bob Salvas of 4th Monday Networking fame and owner of Bob Salvas Consulting will be presenting “Grow Your Business – 3 Areas You Must Focus On To Get More Business”.

On June 18, Carrie Coren, of Carrie Coren Designs will discuss “The Pros and Cons of Doing Your Own Marketing”. Carrie will examine how businesses can save money by doing their own marketing, and how to determine if this is the best course to take.

RI Mentoring Partnership Hosts Attendance Counts! Workshop!!!

CRANSTON, RI – More than 60 stakeholders from around the state joined RIMP and the Cranston Attendance Counts! Task Force on Thursday for a workshop to discuss the issues surrounding absenteeism in Rhode Island and the innovative approaches being undertaken to combat it.

Guests heard from RI Education Commissioner Deborah Gist, Cranston School Superintendent Dr. Judy Lundsten, Cranston School Data Coordinator Dr. Rosemary Burns, RI Kids Count analyst Stephanie Geller, Cranston High School East student Emily Nunez, Sue Thomas, RIMP’s Senior Director of Training and Program Development, and Shameem Awan, Vice Chair of the RIMP Board of Directors.

In addition to informative presentations from the distinguished panel of speakers, the extremely engaged crowd took part in a question and answer session.

RIMP joined the task force this past summer.  Thanks to our years of experience with mentoring programs we know how important attendance is for students and we know that mentoring can and does have a major positive impact on the attendance rates of mentees.

Thank you to all those who took part in the workshop and be on the lookout for future Attendance Counts! Task Force efforts.
