Cadence Announces Major Expansion in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI – Cadence, Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision products for the medical device and life science markets, broke ground today on a 34,000 square foot expansion of their Cranston, RI facility.

Cadence is investing $3.3 million in this expansion to make way for additional precision machining, laser processing, and automation equipment.  The expansion will bring the Cranston facility size to 77,000 square feet and is expected to be complete by the end of this year.

“Our Cranston facility has quickly become one of the major facilities in the US for precision machining of the most complex parts that go into surgical devices,” said Alan Connor, President and CEO of Cadence. “Much of our Swiss machining equipment now runs “lights out” to keep pace with the growing demand.  We have also added unique laser capabilities that are optimized for fine tube fabrication.”

In 2012, Cadence completed a 25,000 square foot expansion to their headquarters in Staunton, VA. The Staunton, VA campus sits on 15 acres with two facilities totaling over 93,000 square feet. Cadence also recently opened a facility in Pittsburgh, PA that is dedicated to providing finished medical devices.
