Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) Expands Customer Service Hours This Weekend & Next Weekend

PROVIDENCE, RI – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will expand its customer service call center hours and retail location hours this weekend and next weekend to provide additional support for customers as direct pay and Medicare enrollment deadlines approach.

BCBSRI staff will be available to answer questions about plan options, costs, physician networks and wellness benefits, as well as help individuals sign up for coverage.  Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) ends on December 7, and the enrollment deadline for direct pay customers has been extended to December 23, 2013.

For customer service and to purchase Medicare plans, BCBSRI staff can be reached by phone at 1-800-351-BLUE (2583) TTY/TDD 711. Phone lines will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day from Friday, November 29 through December 7.

To speak with someone in person, customers can visit the following locations:

•         BCBSRI customer service at 500 Exchange Street in downtown Providence

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, November 30, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

•       The Blue Advantage Center, BCBSRI’s new retail location, at 300 Quaker Lane in Warwick

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Next Saturday, December 7, the Blue Advantage Center will also be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or until the last person is helped, as it is the final day of Medicare open enrollment.

*Note: Both locations are closed on Thursday, November 29 for Thanksgiving.
