Bistro 22 Brings Inspired Cuisine to Garden City Center Lunch and Dinner with a Southern Flair

CRANSTON, RI – Garden City Center welcomes Bistro 22, an “inspired cuisine” restaurant with a fresh, modern look and a twang of southern comfort in their signature lunch, dinner, and cocktail menus. Brothers Carlo and Gennaro Slaughter opened their latest restaurant this month near ModMama and across from Anthropologie.

Dishes are infused with southern- appeal from gourmet selections to the classic burger. One of Bistro 22’s signature dinner appetizers, “Breakfast in a Jar,” includes potatoes, smoked bacon, pork, drizzled truffle butter, and a cracked egg on top all served in a mason jar with toast on the side. Bistro 22 serves a full complement of unique local liquors and beers.

From the restaurant design to the menu dish selection, both brothers have had equal parts in developing Bistro 22. Gennaro led the construction renovations, building and designing the exterior as well as interior of the restaurant. Think modern, French farmhouse décor; natural wooden floors, dark wood furnishings, crisp white walls, old school lighting features, and a granite bar. The clean, bright look invites the food to speak for itself.

With 25 years’ experience in the culinary industry, Carlo created a delectable menu and cocktail list. After graduating from Johnston & Wales with an associate’s degree in Culinary and Bachelor of Arts in Business, Carlo went on to work at Disney World and The Capital Grille. Since transitioning from the kitchen to front of house, Carlo has opened Mill’s Tavern in Providence, RI and currently owns and operates D. Carlo Trattoria in Smithfield, RI with his best friend Denis Thibeault.

Once deciding to open a restaurant together, the brothers spent the past few years searching for the perfect spot. Timing and location finally matched. “Since we were little kids growing up in Warwick, we would come to Garden City Center all the time,” said Carlo Slaughter, “So, there is a strong personal connection to the location.”

Bistro 22 is located in the Garden City Center in Cranston, Rhode Island. Bistro 22 is open for lunch 11:30 am to 3 p.m., dinner 5p.m. to 10p.m and will close Fridays and Saturdays at 11p.m., and Sundays at 9:30p.m. For more information, visit bistro22RI.com.
